In August 2012, a delegation from Zhongshan visited Burnaby. Han Zesheng, Vice Chair of the CPPCC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, presented a pair of Drunken Dragon miniature to the Burnaby City Hall on behalf of Zhongshan, which was accepted by Mayor Derek Corrigan, further strengthening cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
2012年8月，中山市友好代表团访问赴本拿比，市政协副主席韩泽生代表中山市向本拿比市政厅赠送了醉龙，市长德瑞克·柯瑞根代表接受，两市在文化领域的交流合作进一步加强。
On September 30, 2021, Xiao Zhanxin, Mayor of Zhongshan, and Mike Hurley, Mayor of Burnaby, held a video conference to renew the friendly exchanges between the two cities on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of sister city relationship, and both sides agreed on continuing to promote wider, deeper exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
