In April 1988, Tang Bingquan, Mayor of Zhongshan, and Kita Hitomi, Mayor of Moriguchi, signed the sister-city relationship agreement on behalf of the two municipal governments respectively.

1988年4月，中山市市长汤炳权、守口市市长喜多洋三分别代表两市政府在缔结友好城市关系协议书上签字。

Zhongshan and Moriguchi have formed table tennis united teams for five times to participate in the "China-Japan Sister Cities Table Tennis Friendship Tournament for Junior Middle School Students " in Beijing organized by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

中山、守口两市先后5次联合组成乒乓球联队，前往北京参加全国友协举办的“中日友好交流城市初中生乒乓球友谊比赛大会”。
